Misc. Observations and Errors, part 6

Unfortunately, prior to Nemesis, quilt lines didn't always properly align with their counterparts along the shoulder seam on any of the DS9/NEM-era garments, including the admiral jacket.

As mentioned previously, Admiral Ross had at least two jackets, as demonstrated previously by the difference in length, but also by the fact that on one of his jackets, the front and back yoke quilt lines did not align properly at the shoulder seam, and on another of his jackets, they did:

DS9, 6x4 "Behind the Lines"
DS9, 7x16 "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"

This was probably because in those early days, the costume department was still mastering the art of drafting and constructing the quilted yokes with alignment at the shoulder seam in mind - a technique that ultimately wouldn't be consistently finalized until Nemesis a few years later.

(See our DS9/NEM duty jumpsuit and DS9/NEM "captain jacket" analyses for examples of quilt line mismatching on those garments.)
